$497 Website Design!
You might have a few questions about my website design services and why it costs only $497 for a fresh new website. Hopefully, these answers will give you a better feel for what I do. If you still have other questions, contact me.
Why are your prices so cheap? Is there a catch?
I get asked this question a lot. Some website design companies charge thousands of dollars because of the “perceived value” it creates for their services. I care about providing top-quality website design services for any organization that needs it. It doesn’t take me weeks to create a fresh website. Therefore, there’s no reason for me to charge my clients thousands of extra dollars.
Do you provide the website hosting yourself?
Not currently, though it is something I am looking into for the future. Every website on the internet has servers that “host” their site so that it can be viewable on the internet. This is where Bluehost comes in, the company I personally use to host many of my own websites. Bluehost charges around $7 per month for their basic hosting package (which is what I use). My design cost of $497 does not contemplate this necessary 3rd party hosting service/charge.
Wow, $497 for a fresh website design is cheap! Are there any hidden fees?
No hidden fees. The $497 design & setup fee is the cost for my website design service. Any subsequent, outside-of-the-box custom design work (after going “live” with your site) you would like is $25/hour. In other words, if a couple of years down the road you decide you want me to completely overhaul the design of your website, the cost to do so will be $25/hour.
Are there any limits to the number of pages we can have?
No. I do not want to limit your organization’s product in any way. I want your website to shine, reach millions of viewers, and boost your revenues. If doing that means 5 pages, 20 pages, or even 80 pages…let’s get it done and done right!
Will my website be searchable by Google and other search engines?
Yes. One of the reasons I use StudioPress for the framework of my designs is because the core foundation for their themes was created with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) in mind. To keep it as non-techie as possible, all of the content from your site…as well as additional keywords…are formatted so that all search engines can understand and easily index them.
Do we need a domain name first or will you help us with that as well?
No, and yes. The domain name is your organization’s URL. It is the www.yournamehere.com that people use to reach your website. If you don’t already have a domain URL, I can assist you in determining the best one for your organization and assist you in purchasing and pointing it to your website. I don’t take ownership of your domain when you transfer it to me. You should have the freedom to control your own domain name. If you don’t already have your own domain name, I would recommend purchasing your domain through NameCheap.com, which will cost about $10 per year. However, Bluehost usually offers a free domain URL with a hosting purchase.
Do you have an estimated timeline for delivery?
You can expect to receive the first basic draft of your design within 7 business days from the day I start your project. Each revision of your design may take an additional 2-4 business days depending on the complexity of your request. Once you approve the design via email, I’ll complete the live install within 48 hours, typically.
Will you have a credit line in the footer section of our website?
As with most things in life, every blog and website I design remains my intellectual property, and I do retain the copyright. A credit linking back to this website (“Website Designed by Charles Specht“) will be placed in your footer, and will remain intact as long as my design is present on your blog or website. This “credit line” helps in establishing my credibility with any other organizations also considering my website design services.
Sounds great! How do we get started?
It’s easy, really. The first step is to contact me. Once we mutually agree to move forward, we will then discuss exactly what you’re looking for, what the “look” of your website should be like, what your expectations of me are, what information you want available on your website, who will gather all the text (content) and pictures for your website, etc. Once we have the basics figured out and in my hands, I should be able to have the first draft of your website up and running in roughly one week.
