You know, I’ve been trying to think about exactly what it is I want to accomplish here at CharlesSpecht.com.
What, exactly, am I trying to do?
Ultimately, the answer is this:
I want to help people.
How to be More Confident (God’s Way)
I want to help people (just like you) learn how to be more confident and to understand what it is God wants you to do with your life. Because I don’t believe God wants anybody stumbling through life, day after day, living a life of absolute mediocrity.
I believe God has created people in his own image to glorify him, to live for his glory, and to do things that honor and please him. I do believe that God wants to bless people with success.
I think he wants us–as Christians–to be highly motivated, very ambitious in all that we do, and I believe God wants us to put absolutely no confidence in the flesh but to place all of our confidence in him alone.
And so, when I think about these issues and who it is that’s out there searching for something, trying to find out what their purpose is in life, what God wants them to do, how God has equipped them to live, and maybe the business that God wants them to start, or the ministry that God wants them to flourish in…what is that person looking for? I think that when it really comes down to it, God wants you–God wants his people–to be people of absolute confidence.
Building Confidence God’s Way
God doesn’t want people to be nervous. I don’t think God expects us to stumble through life, not really understanding what our purpose in life us. That’s one of the reasons why I created this website, because I want to help people understand what God’s will is for their lives.
I want people to understand that God expects us to be extraordinary in this world because, for anyone who has been created in God’s image—and that is everybody—but anybody who has trusted in Christ Jesus alone—and those are Christians—God has come to abide in us. He has come to abide in you!
I just can’t see God trying to abide in somebody, having equipped them with spiritual gifts, just to go walking through life creating mediocrity.
God want you to learn how to be more confident.
God wants you to do more than just make a dent in the universe.
God wants you to impact people’s lives in both time and eternity.
That’s what I’m trying to help you with. (Are you willing to be helped?)
Relax, God Can Handle It
I know that there are a lot of people out there just like me. Like me, they’re people trying to figure out exactly what God wants them to do with their lives.
You know what? Here’s the thrust of my website.
You don’t have to have it all figured out!
I don’t think God wants you to have it all figured out. He has it all figured out, he wants you trusting in him on a daily basis.
In our culture, and even in online media and so forth, we spend too much time trying to “figure it out,” when you’re not supposed to have it figured out!
How You’re Supposed to Live Your Life
You’re supposed to live your life trusting in him; not placing any confidence in the flesh but trusting in God, having all the confidence that—while seated on the throne—he has it all figured out and he will unfold that plan for you over the course of time.
- Our job is to be prayerful.
- Our job is to be pure.
- Our job is to be studying his Word and feasting upon it regularly.
- Our job is to be involved in ministry.
- Our job is to be serving those people who are around us who are in great need.
And I believe that as you are doing this, as you are putting yourself out there, stepping just a little bit outside the comfort zone with each and every day, God not only unfolds the plan but that he motivates you in that plan.
He gives you an ambitious desire in that plan. I think God makes you highly successful in that plan—according to his definition of success—but I think that God expects us to live with more confidence.
In fact, the person who does not have confidence to go through life is the person who is relying on their own personal strength, their own ingenuity, and their own resources, rather than relying upon God.
Building Confidence is Not Being Extroverted
I want to tell you that one of the things I’ve come to understand, even right now as I pastor a church, is that I am absolutely timid.
I’m not an extrovert.
I’m not an introvert either.
I’m somewhere in the middle, and there are times in which I lean toward extroversion and there are other times when I find myself leaning toward being an introvert. But I know that I’m a nervous person.
I get scared.
I get fearful.
I get timid.
And I wonder,
“Can I do this?”
I feel like an impostor at times. I don’t feel as though I’m equipped to do this. Or maybe, God chose the wrong person.
I feel like I’m Moses, walking around in circles in the wilderness, saying,
“God, send somebody else. I can’t do this.”
But here’s what you need to do and here’s what I had to learn for myself: You just have to put yourself out there!
Break Out of Your Status Quo
Put yourself out there and leave the results in the hands of God. He’s the one who knows all that needs to take place anyway. But if you just step out of that comfort zone a little bit, trusting in his grace and trusting in his provision, he will lead you down the path you are supposed to go.
I’m absolutely convinced, without a shadow of a doubt, based upon what Holy Scripture teaches us, that when we walk by faith and not by sight, God is the one getting the glory. He uses you—Yes, he uses you!—like a tool in his hand; the hand of the Master Craftsman.
And when God builds that house, that house not only will not fall, but it will stand.
I think that you are that building.
You’re that building God is using. You’re that tool God wants to hold–to handle and grasp–to continue to build his Church and build up his people. Remembering this truth is the key to learning how to be more confident in life.
He wants us sharing the gospel. He wants us going out of our way doing good deeds for other people. He opens up his plan as we continue to search after him, to gain even a greater understanding of his gospel each and every day.
So, I am absolutely convinced that what God wants is a Confident You.
He wants you to live for his glory. He wants you to be ambitious and motivated and knowing what your purpose in life truly is.
That’s what I try to do here at CharlesSpecht.com.
I try to help people understand what it is God expects of them; how God intends to use them for his glory.
As we continue to dive into these issues and to understand the power God has placed in you–the spiritual gifts that he has given you–the resources that we have available to us today–I believe that not only will you not have to be fearful any longer but you can wake up each and every day knowing that God has a specific plan for you!
He is holding you in his hand and nothing is going to hurt you. Nothing is going to harm you.
He is always there, watching over and protecting you.
And even if life doesn’t go exactly as you’d like it to go, have no fear because God is still seated on the throne, watching over you. Protecting you. Loving you!
Even a billion years from today, when you are basting in the glorious presence of almighty God and you are worshipping at the feet of the Savior, these few fleeting moments of restlessness here in this world are going to seem so far away and so utterly ridiculous.
God wants not merely to handle you–but to embrace you. To love you. To give you the things that will increase your happiness.
I believe that God expects you to live your life for his glory.
What to Expect When Building Confidence God’s Way
I’m glad you’re coming along for this journey. There will be ups and there will be downs. There will be valleys and there will be mountains and peaks, but we’ll get to the top of that mountain–together!
As we travel there together, and we’re holding hands at the top of this mountain, we’ll begin to look out into the horizon of what God’s purpose for your life truly is, and I know that you are going to be in absolute satisfaction—whatever it is—knowing that God has called you for this very purpose.
And the greatest joy that a Christian can ever have in this world is knowing that he or she is living for God’s glory while living in his will.
So thanks for coming along for the ride. It’s going to be a mighty trip.
Enjoy, and God bless!
QUESTION: Have you ever thought about how to be more confident, God’s way?

Deep insight! I believe you spoke the mind of God for where i am at right now- to be confident in the capability of God to do what he says he will do in and through my life for his glory. Thank you so very much.
