QUESTION: “How can God be good when bad things happen?”
This is a question people often ask or wonder about. But it’s a question that starts with the wrong premise. God is good. Always good. Always wonderful and kind and gracious and holy.
God is good and never does evil. So, then, why do bad things happen in the world?
ANSWER: ——> People do bad things to one another.
People are the problem, not God. 💯
We are sinners. We are evil. But God is being patient with us.
So, when we see bad things happen it’s because people are doing evil things and we are — simultaneously — witnessing the patience of God with us in that exact moment … as God is longing for us to believe Him, repent of our sin, and do what is good and right, rather than evil.
God doesn’t want to destroy us and send us all to Hell. His patience with us — even during the exact moments we are ainning — is a moment of grace.
A sweet moment of grace that none of us deserves but that He so often extends.
So, rather than accuse God of something He is not doing, let’s worship God for actually being so kind and loving toward us sinners.
Amen? Amen!
