“I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth” (1 Corinthians 3:6)
Do you remember a few months back when each of our pastors shared their personal testimonies at church in our “Pastoral Callings” series?
I likewise shared my personal testimony and my three main points were: Plant, Water, and Pray.
In that message I spoke about Planting seed and how we do that by sharing the gospel with unbelievers, and that through ministry/service we are repeatedly Watering that seed, while Praying to God that He would cause the growth.
During the sermon I had a large flower pot with nothing but dirt in it, and then I sprinkled seeds into the pot and watered it, symbolizing the Planting and Watering we do.
When I got home from church later that day I set the pot in a corner of my backyard patio and thought,
“Hmmm, I wonder if these seeds will actually ever grow?”
Over the months I forgot all about the pot, until a few days ago when my wife mentioned that there are these pretty flowers growing in a pot that she hadn’t planted.
I ran outside to see for myself and…indeed…God causes the growth!
Here’s a picture of God’s handiwork.
My friends … remember to Plant, Water, and Pray! God will do His work!
